About

Rastrick Photography Group is aimed at bringing together local photographers from the Rastrick and Brighouse area to share their enthusiasm and knowledge for photography.

The group meets on the fourth Saturday of each month, from 10.30am to 12.30pm at Rastrick Library, Crowtrees Lane, HD6 3NE.

The group is completely free to attend, we have no membership fees or subs. At each meeting, there is a collection plate for a completely voluntary donation to the Friends of Rastrick Library.

The group is open to digital and film photographers, of all ages and skill levels. The group has a varied programme with something of interest for everyone from demonstrations, talks, portrait sessions, presentations, competitions and critiques to social events and photo walks.

If you have an interest in photography and would like to see what we do, come along to one of our meetings and see what we get up to. You’ll be made to feel very welcome.

The group was started on 30th May 2015 by local photographer Gary Turner of Shutterspot Photography as a way to meet with fellow photographers. Since then the group has grown steadily with new attendees every month.

The group is run in association with the Friends of Rastrick Library. Although not a registered charity, the Friends are committed to raising funds to help support work at the library, to fund community events and the groups that operate in the library. The Friends run several fundraising events throughout the year, such as craft fairs, quizzes, raffles, tombolas and competitions. Do please visit Rastrick Library and help keep this vital local resource open for all to enjoy.
